- Vision Statement
Aims of UL Christian Union:
As per article 2 of our constitution, the aims of UL Christian Union are:
- To bear witness in the University to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- To unite all Christians and, through prayer and Bible study, to deepen their spiritual lives.
- To seek to stimulate an active interest in evangelistic and other missionary work at home and abroad.
- To uphold the truth of Christianity as set out in the doctrinal basis of the Christian Union.
Organisation:
The CU has an executive committee, composed of members of the CU who have been led to put themselves forward to serve the CU in directing activities and fostering the aims of the CU (Article 6 of constitution). We currently have a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and PRO (Public relations officer).
Affiliations:
UL Christian Union are affiliated to IFES Ireland, the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students in Ireland. This is an umbrella organisation for Christian Unions across Ireland, and provides support to the CU through a regional worker and relay workers who are on-hand to assist CU committee members in their planning and organisation. IFES also exists to bring the various CUs in Ireland together through various national events.
Constitution:
UL Christian Union have a constitution, as required as a society under the Student's Union at the University of Limerick. This sets forth the points on this page formally, as well as procedures and regulations for membership, committee election and the running of the society.
